3. How do I find legal cases when I know the names of the parties?

Searching for legal cases when you know one or more names of the parties involved is simple, regardless of whether they’re obscure or famous legal cases. First, select the court or jurisdiction in which the legal case should be resident. If you know one party’s name you can run that name as the search, especially if it's an uncommon name such as “cameron”.

If you know both parties’ names in the legal case it is best to use the w/n connector (where "n" designates the number of words between the first word and the second):

state w/7 cameron

This search will bring up your legal case, as well as other legal court cases that cite to your court case and ones with the same party names. Limiting the date range will effectively narrow your search and the resulting number of legal cases to review.
